Semaglutide/NAD+ Injection

What is semaglutide and NAD+ combination injection and how does it work? Semaglutide works by stimulating glucose-dependent insulin release from pancreatic islets, slowing gastric emptying, and inhibiting inappropriate post-meal glucagon release thereby reducing food intake. NAD interacts with various enzymes to coordinate DNA repair, gene expression, stress response, and energy metabolism. It also improves glucose tolerance and lipid metabolism and encourages higher levels of energy expenditure and physical activity.

Declining NAD+ levels as we age is closely related to the development of various metabolic disorders including fatty liver disease and diabetes. When NAD+ is added to semaglutide, it may help jumpstart the weight loss process.

What is the process? We will schedule you for an initial appointment either in person or through telehealth with our Nurse Practitioner to go over medical history. If you haven’t had labs drawn recently, we will order baseline labs. If you are cleared to start the medication, we will go ahead and order the semaglutide/NAD+ injection. If you are local to our office, you will come into the office weekly to receive the injection and to check in with our provider. If you choose telehealth you will still communicate with our provider monthly or as needed.
